Swatch Comparison

Guy meets Gal-veston, Ole Calienté, Cha-ching Cherry
I decided to swatch these after a fellow nail polish addict asked if the Essie was worth the buy because of all the similar colors out there. To me, Ole Calienté is a must have for pink & coral lovers. I pulled the closest colors I own to do a side by side comparison.

As you can see, the Essie is a brighter more red coral. This particular comparison is exactly why I trust swatches more so than how a polish looks form the bottle view.

Swatch Comparison
Zoya "Valerie"

Color Club "Alias"

Hard Candy "Beetle"

Beetle, Alias, Valerie, Beetle

Beetle, Alias, Valerie, Beetle

Beetle, Alias, Valerie, Beetle

It may not seem like it in my pictures, but in real like these look VERY similar in the bottle. I was really surprised how VERY different they came out on the nail. All polishes are shown with two coats. Beetle  has an interesting formula. The first coat is so sheer I got nervous it wouldn't be opaque, but with one more coat it came out perfect. Alias  I could not get a picture on-nail of what the polish actually looks like in real life. I would pay attention to my picture of the bottle more than my swatch. Last but not least, Valerie. Valerie was pretty much a one coater & (if I had to choose) the best formula out of all 3.

You can buy these polishes at:
Zoya "Valerie", $8 www.zoya.com
Color Club "Alias", $3 www.head2toebeauty.com
Hard Candy, $4 at Walmart

Hard Candy "Beetle" indirect sunlight, no flash.

Indirect sunlight, flash.

Natural light, flash.

Beetle is by far my favorite out of the 3. While the other 2 are gorgeous, Beetle is unlike any other polish I have. If you don't have it, buy it RIGHT NOW!!!

I also wanted to add a picture from my Instagram:
I added Essie's "Shine of the Times"
I cannot DESCRIBE how AMAZING this color is!!!!! The flakies in SotT brings a whole new dimension to Beetle. This is a must try mani for all my flakie lovers.

Pretty & Polished "Pool Party"

Here is Pretty & Polished's "Pool Party". This is probably my favorite polish from this indie brand next to the ever popular "Jawbreaker". I'm not an expert in polish lingo, so forgive me if I don't describe it the best. This is a blue jelly based polish with TONS of glitter. The glitter comes in all shapes, sizes & color; square, circle, bar, hex, small, medium, large, red, purple, green, gold, ETC! Love love LOVE this polish.

This polish retails for $8 at www.etsy.com/shop/prettyandpolished

I think I would like to start my blog off by stating, I am not a "professional" swatcher. I collect nail polish and doing my nails is a hobby. I take all my nail swatch pictures with my iPhone but for this blog I will be using my Canon Rebel XTi to give more detailed views. I hope you enjoy my posts!
